Exploring Mindfulness

What is MIndfulness?
Bringing your attention to the PRESENT MOMENT!
In the present moment there is no past to upset you or no future to fear or be anxious about

To take the time to RESPOND from your authentic inner self rather than REACT from the learned fears, streses and ego that dominate our sense of self.

Mindfulness is a practice!
Mindfulness is available to everyone and like anything, the more you practice it, the better you are at it!

Five Mindfulness Practices
Include Mindful Breathing, mindful walking, mindful eating, meditation, regular reminders.
Mindful breathing is the practice of focussing your attention on your breathing, noticing it, following it and concentrating on it until you feel calm and peace descend over your body and you can then respond from this place of calm rather than strong emotion.
Mindful Walking
Mindful walking is whereby you walk slowly and deliberately whilst focussing on your breathing and the present moment.
Mindful Eating is where you eat slowly, deliberately, moderately and in appreciation for the gift of food on your plate.
Meditation is a process that allows you to be fully in the present moment and in connection with your higher consciousness.
A regular reminder is setting up something either a bell or other sound or a time of the day or a word, whatever works for you, whereby you simply stop, breathe and bring yourself to the present moment.

Benefits of Mindfulness
Learning how to respond from love and compassion rather than fear and guilt
Awareness of how our actions cause an effect on others, our environment, our community and our world
Slowing down so life(nature, people, animals) can be appreciated more
Reduction of stress, anxiety, illness and violence
Increase in overall levels of happiness and joy

Living under the illusion of the Scientific Worldview

The current Scientific Worldview is dominated by the belief that Nature is mechanical and materialsitic with no real purpose.  In this worldview matter is the only thing that matters and all matter is unconscious! This denies the realm of consciousness, invisible energetic fields, spirit, and evolution. As we and the other living organisms we share this universe with, are actually conscious, this denies a large part of who we are. This denial has led to chaos and confusion in every living organism and a wilful destruction of a planet that we no longer connect to or respect! To deny this key part of who we are leads to Science creating a world of illusion in order to substantiate its reality! If we set science free from these dogmas we allow the possibility of finding the truth!
Picture
Over the past three years in the course of researching the book we are writing, we have come to the realization that we live in a world dominated by outdated dogma and belief systems. We have moved from a world dominated by Religious dogma to a world dominated by Science dogma. We are so entrapped by this dogma that we continue to support it even when we know in the depths of our being that it is not true! There is a growing database of evidence provided by avante garde scientists, teachers and mystics which refutes the key dogmas that inhibit and constrict our current worldview! All of these dogma do not stand up to a true scientific method of inquiry through hypotheses, reason, evidence and collective investigation. In many cases, this evidence is suppressed, destroyed, distorted, ignored or invalidated by those that are so blinded by their beliefs that they are not open to something new!
